About

I started in the camera department as a camera assistant. I had the opportunity to work on features, TV shows, commercials, music videos, documentaries and visual effects. On the crew of "Tucker" I worked with Francis Ford Coppola, and Vittorio Storaro. Doing special effects at ILM, I worked with John Carpenter on "Memoirs of an Invisible Man", and on "Hook" with Stephen Spielberg.

Some of the TV shows I worked on were "60 Minutes", "20/20", "Nova", and "Nature". Commercial season brought opportunities to work with New York and Los Angeles ad agencies for Ford, Toyota, Citi Bank, McDonalds and many others.

That work provided a foundation for equipment knowledge of cameras, cranes, remote heads, dollies and insert cars. I used that familiarity to further my collaborative skills, problem solving ability and the development of not just a cameraman's but also a director's "eye" when I started operating in 1993.

As a camera operator, I've crewed on features with Clint Eastwood, Michael Bay, and Robin Williams. I did TV series work on "Martial Law" with Sammo Hung, which was primarily hand-held-work shooting fight scenes and stunts, and "Nash Bridges" shooting car chases.

Then, I was pulled into the music world and was on crews for the Outside Lands Festival, the Sonoma Jazz Festival and the Chet Helms Tribal Stomp. Those contacts led to comedy specials with Kathy Griffin and Bill Cosby, TV specials like SF Ballet's production of "The Little Mermaid", sports with the San Francisco Bulls hockey team.

And most recently I was with the San Francisco Opera as part of Team HD filming more than 60+ productions over a 10 year period.
